This charming picture book is fun to read and will make anyone laugh or at least smile.
Ya think you know dragons?
Yar'all so wrong!
Come meet Draco Bibliophile which is what we call a person who collects or has a great love of books.
You think dragons are evil, flesh eaters, and scary?
They only want to be your BFF!
They can be tedious, but who has no quirk?
What really made an impression on me is the multi-layered interpretations I get from the book.
"What if I told you that all of the fairy tales, myths and legends that have been told about dragons over the years are WRONG?" says the summary.
I'm all ears!
What if everything you thought you knew about people around you was wrong?
Do you have false/preconceived/deviant ideas about people who are different from you?
Do you get only your image of a minority through the lens of the media? Through what people tell you?
Of course, you do.
We all do.
The window the media gives us of a group of people is often wrong and bias.
The idea we have of dragons are false too.
Have you met a dragon before?
So how do you know about them?
Go meet a dragon and tell me if "Dragons Are Real" or not, if it's true that they sing and read and tell poetry.
Go find them.
Go find them in diverse cultures.
Go find them in old tales and new ones.
Go meet the difference and maybe you'll learn something new.
